Martin Granstrom is the VP of Product Design and Research at Sam’s Club, a membership-only warehouse club owned by Walmart Inc. In his role, Martin heads a world-class product design team over 100 strong, pioneering retail innovation across all stages, from crafting experiences and branding to enhancing associate tools and processes to cultivating member engagement and satisfaction. His leadership has fostered the development of the best-in-class retail experiences, such as Scan & Go™ featured during Super Bowl LVI. He’s now orchestrating the next generation of product design with Re:Imagine Retail, a conference merging physical and digital retail, and Clubhouse, a space for innovative collaboration.  

With over 20 years of experience as a design leader, Martin has successfully created award-winning designs and led complex, multifaceted experience strategy and design teams at companies such as, Sony Ericsson, NOOK Media and Samsung. His leadership has been instrumental in pioneering mobile designs used by hundreds of millions of people globally. Martin holds 2 design patents: Receiving user input on a graphical user interface (force touch on digital displays) and Mobile products for managing playback of songs (multiuser playlist for managing songs (any file)via Bluetooth). Martin holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media studies and Masters level education in Informatics with focus on Human Computer Interaction, both from Lund University.
