Kurt Walecki

Kurt is a seasoned design executive with a track record of orchestrating multi-disciplinary product teams to build scalable products and experiences that address customers’ most critical needs. With over 30 years of experience, Kurt has made significant impacts at globally recognized companies, including Intuit, Intuit QuickBooks, Intuit TurboTax, and Nokia. His expertise lies in driving innovation and creating design strategies that resonate with billions of customers across global markets.

During his 11-year tenure at Intuit, Kurt rose to become the most senior design executive as Senior Vice President, where he was part of the CEO-extended staff. He led a team of over 1,100 employees focused on the company’s top priorities, overseeing design across QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Mint. Beyond his design leadership, Kurt was responsible for the TurboTax product segment and served as General Manager of QuickBooks Emerging Markets. He also spearheaded several company-wide initiatives, including the creation of the Intuit Design System and the Virtual Expert Platform Design Team. Now, Kurt is pursuing his next adventure, focused on unlocking the power of design and innovation across various organizations, academia, and product teams. Kurt is a Founding Member of Design Executive Council and he is actively consulting, educating, mentoring, and advising.
