Janaki Kumar

Janaki Kumar is the Chief Design Officer for Global Banking at JPMorgan Chase. She is a design executive with a track record of building high-performance design teams and creating award-winning digital experiences. Previously, Janaki headed the Design and Co-Innovation Center at SAP Labs, Palo Alto, where she delivered innovations that transformed businesses. Her leadership is rooted in design thinking, empathy, and collaboration.

Janaki co-authored the book Gamification at Work – Designing Engaging Business Software. She was a speaker at a TEDx conference and a co-instructor at Stanford’s Graduate School Business LEAD course on Customer Experience Design: A Neuroscience Perspective. She is an inventor on over 20 patents. She has a Masters in Information Systems from Boston University and attended the Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University. She was named a Woman of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2016. Outside of her professional life, Janaki enjoys spending time with her family in Palo Alto, California.
