Following our recent announcement of Heather Winkle's appointment as Chair of DXC Research, we're excited to share more about the launch of DXC Research, the business intelligence arm of the Design Executive Council. Joining Heather are Andrew Hogan, Head of Insights at Figma, and AJ Joplin, a design and research industry analyst, as the inaugural committee members.
DXC Research is dedicated to offering in-depth research and analysis, executive briefings, training, and bespoke advisory services to C-level executives, board directors, and more. This initiative aims to provide critical insights on innovating and thriving in the experience economy.
The inclusion of seasoned industry analysts and researchers underscores our commitment to a rigorous and informed approach to strategic design leadership. They will actively shape research capabilities, ensure quality, and contribute to the business evolution of the Design Executive Council.
Heather Winkle, who most recently served as Chief Design Officer for McAfee and previously as SVP, Global Head of Design for Capital One, brings extensive experience in driving business outcomes and transformation through strategic design leadership. Her leadership will inform the direction and focus of DXC research to enrich the impact of design and research organizations on business success.
Andrew Hogan, Figma’s Head of Insights and former Principal Analyst at Forrester, will help us navigate the intersection of design and technology. His focus on identifying how the most successful teams work and his insights into the digital product and design industry are invaluable as we move forward.
AJ Joplin, an industry analyst and advisor, brings a wealth of experience guiding major enterprises in developing their design and research capabilities. Joplin highlights the importance of design maturity in achieving strategic goals and overall organizational success.
“New and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence are fostering rapid and transformational change. Leaders need tools and methods to make decisions that are good for people, good for society, and good for business. But the challenge is in finding the data and analysis to advocate for new approaches and innovation. I’m excited to help build on DXC’s existing work in this area and contribute to the research that leaders need,” said Hogan.
"Design is a key enabler in strategic success and a necessary player in the systems and behaviors that fulfill strategic goals. Organizations that consciously develop their design maturity not only increase their chances of success in the market but have the ability to improve the way their firms operate overall,” added Joplin.
As we move forward, our goal with DXC Research is to provide distinct data, benchmarks, and insights that empower our members and partners in transforming companies to compete in the experience economy. Design is a vital component, especially in the age of AI and the increasing commodification of technology.
"AJ and Andrew will support DXC’s ability to conduct institutional-grade research with the editorial and analytical rigor needed to influence decision-making at the highest levels. Their contributions are pivotal for advancing strategic design leadership and providing critical business intelligence, driving the next phase of our company's growth," said Gordon Ching, Founder and CEO of DXC.
